oder der hier, war damals glaube ich als erste single für "carter 1" geplant, ist dann aber nicht auf dem album gelandet. war vom sound dann vielleicht etwas zu sehr am alten cmr-sound angelehnt.

ja man, war voll enttäuscht als ich das album gehört habe und das ne andere version war. hatte halt anfangs gehofft das der sich nur busta und brisco als features da drauf geholt hat und dann war das ein ganz neuer track.

hab aufgrund des threads hier vorhin carter 3 & 2 gehört beim sport und hatte richtig spaß. dann bei spotify aktuelle releases angeguckt und den hier gesehen. war dann so komplett überrascht, dass der ja klingt wie aus der carter 3 era, aber hatte vergessen, dass er das ja auch ist.

nicht ganz so alte wie die meisten Tracks hier (glaube von 2013) aber auch an vielen vorbeigegangen damals.... einfach nur brutal wie Weezy das Ding zerlegt

Ich werde die Tage mitmachen. Aber something you forgot gehört auch zu meinen Favoriten
 
Die meisten hidden Gems wurden ja schon gepostet, daher hab ich nur mal geschaut was ich noch so rumfliegen hatte bzw. was mir so einfällt.



Vom Beat her jetzt kein überragender Klassiker aber nennenswert, weil Weezy da sowohl 50 Cent als auch Nas disst. Ich wusste damals wie heute nicht, wieso eigentlich (glaube 50 hatte in der Zeit ums G-Unit Debut mal abfällig über Wayne geredet, die Lines beziehen sich ja auch auf G-Unit, dürfte also passen). Aber die Lines sind ganz nice.

Was hier auch noch nicht so vorkam sind die Weezy Features, da hat er in der Zeit vor und nach Carter 3 auch sehr viele geile Parts abgeliefert. Und 2021 war er ja auch wieder absolut on Fire mit den Features. Aber früher z.B. der Part auf dem Hustle Hard Remix von Ace Hood:

Aber auch unfassbar sein Part auf dem Dey Know Remix (der Beat sowieso monumental und über fast alles erhaben). Hier muss man auch Ludacris lobend erwähnen. Fast schade dass der mit seiner Schauspielerei so gut Kohle macht dass er kein Mic mehr anfangen muss (aber Respekt für sein Erfolg)

Da muss man wohl den Part erwähnen, mit welchem Weezy erstmals so richtig im Mainstream angekommen ist (auch über die Staaten hinaus). Weiß grad gar nicht von wann der genau ist, schätze mal 2004-2005 sowas. Auf jeden Fall auch Weltklasse
