This has been by far the most challenging few weeks in my professional life. I understood cognitively that I was facing a crossroads in my evolution as a player and as a man, and that it came with exceptionally difficult choices. What I didn’t truly understand, however, was the range of emotions I would feel during this process.

The primary mandate I had for myself in making this decision was to have it based on the potential for my growth as a player — as that has always steered me in the right direction. But I am also at a point in my life where it is of equal importance to find an opportunity that encourages my evolution as a man: moving out of my comfort zone to a new city and community which offers the greatest potential for my contribution and personal growth. With this in mind, I have decided that I am going to join the Golden State Warriors.

I’m from Washington, D.C. originally, but Oklahoma City truly raised me. It taught me so much about family as well as what it means to be a man. There are no words to express what the organization and the community mean to me, and what they will represent in my life and in my heart forever. The memories and friendships are something that go far beyond the game. Those invaluable relationships are what made this deliberation so challenging.

It really pains me to know that I will disappoint so many people with this choice, but I believe I am doing what I feel is the right thing at this point in my life and my playing career.

Irgendwie nervt mich dieser Salary-Cap Jump. Nur dadurch ist sowas wie KD zu den Dubs ja überhaupt möglich. Die Mozgovs und Tyler Johnsons dieser Welt kassieren ab und sowas wie ein gesundes Gehaltsgefüge scheint in der NBA keine Sau zu interessieren. Die Rookie-Contracts bleiben in ihrer Höhe fast gleich, die MLE bleibt unangetastet, während gefühlt jeder, der geradeaus laufen kann 'nen Max Deal bekommt. Ist doch die komplette Wettbewerbsverzerrung und das geht ja nächstes Jahr fröhlich so weiter. Bin kein Experte, was die CBA anbelangt und so, aber da müsste es doch Mittel und Wege geben um das Ganze 'n bisschen ausgeglichener und letztlich fairer zu gestalten. Eine Anpassung der "alten" Verträge nach oben oder so. Naja, ich als Blazer-Fan freue mich über Evan Turner für 18 Millionen und darüber, dass man wohl nicht mal Spieler wie Allen Crabbe zu vernünftigen Konditionen halten kann, weil jedes Team Capspace en masse hat und mit Kohle um sich werfen kann, während ein 73-Win-Team einfach mal so 'nen zukünftigen HoF'er verpflichten kann.

ich fänds sehr schade, aber i-wann muss der tag ja mal kommen. er hat alles erreicht, was man erreichen kann. für mich persönlich einer der besten 5 spieler aller zeiten.
wie ibaka ihn in spiel 6 nach einem erbitterten kampf am ende mies geblockt hat, war nich nur echt schmerzhaft anzusehen, sondern vllt. wirklich das zeichen dafür, dass es zeit is, das trikot an den nagel zu hängen.

Weiß gar nicht mal, ob das jetzt unbedingt pussyhaft wäre. Aufm Papier hätten die Warriors so ziemlich die beste S5 ever. Mit Curry und KD zwei der 3 besten Spieler der Liga. Dazu mit Klay und Draymond 2 der besten sagen wir 12 Spieler. Wann gab's das schonmal? Is schon verlockend. Rechne aber dennoch mit einem Verbleib KDs in OKC. Waren so kurz vorm Ziel und sind durch den Ibaka-Trade jetzt nicht unbedingt schlechter geworden...

über die taktischen vorteile des wechsels etc. macht sich der durchschnittliche und social media-affine nba-"fan" von heute doch eh wenig gedanken. der überlegt sich lieber einen sarkastisch bis gehässigen text für i-welche durant-memes, die er erstellen und tweeten will. denn wenn lebron schon genug anlass für häme und spott gab mit seinem wechsel nach miami, dann dürfte es kd nun rein nach der logik noch schlimmer treffen, denn im gegensatz zu lebron hatte er einige fähige mitspieler an seiner seite und außerdem nen co-star, der letzte saison sogar besser spielte als er.

hat aber schon nen bitteren beigeschmack, wenn man überlegt, dass er ausgerechnet zu dem team wechselt, dass seinen thunder in den cfs mit einer mega hau ruck-aktion die tour versaut hat.

Mavs bedienen sich scheinbar fleißig an der Warriors-Resterampe und signen nicht nur Harrison Barnes für Unsummen, sondern ertraden wohl auch Bogut. Hm.
Pau Gasol ist bei den Blazers im Gespräch, aber ich rechne damit, dass er zu den Spurs geht, um diese zu verjüngen und Timmy zu ersetzen.
