Rev. Billy Tuttle is involved as a major cult leader
Dora Lang’s husband mentions that Ledeaux told him about a cult that sacrifices women and children, a cult made up of rich white men.
In episode 1, Cohle and Hart meet Tuttle, and he outright tells them that there is a war going on behind the scenes.
Tuttle immediately moves to infiltrate the Louisiana CID with his own team of detectives to combat “anti-Christian” crimes, thus containing the investigation.
When Cohle and Hart first go to the abandoned school in episode 3, Cohle mentions that the school is a property belonging to Tuttle’s foundation. They meet a strange man who may or may not resemble a class-mate of Reanne’s (see yearbook), mowing a lawn of an abandoned building that doesn’t look like it especially needs mowing. This same man may or may not resemble the green eared spaghetti monster who had been drawn from the description of the child who had been chased through the woods.
This is the same school that Cohle returns to in episode 5 and finds the murals and bird-traps seen at all of the other crime scenes
stammt aus einem längeren Text, der die These unterstützt, dass Rust u. Marty nach wie vor undercover sind und "warten".
