Leon Bridges is the new Sam Cooke. The 25-year-old Fort Worth, TX newcomer channeled 60's rhythm and blues/soul on his debut singles, "Coming Home" and "Better Man" – which quickly blew up and inked him a deal with Columbia Records.

Now, Mr. Bridges (/no Luda) is back with his latest single, "Lisa Sawyer," which serves as a touching tribute to his mother.

Kennt den jemand? Klingt sehr überzeugend.
 
Shit, erst mal in den Soulthread geschrieben und erst jetzt gesehen, dass du schon einen Thread für den Kerl aufgemacht hast. Lisa Sawyer und Coming Home finde ich toll. Better Man ist auch in Ordnung, aber nicht so gut wie die zwei anderen Tracks.
Ihn als "the new Sam Cooke" zu labeln ist natürlich Unsinn, aber viele Leute wollen halt alles in ne Schublade packen.
Bin auf seine zukünftigen Projekte jedenfalls gespannt.

Habe mitlerweile einen bösen Ohrwurm von "Smooth Sailin´". Ich glaube das Album wird sehr gut.
 
Die letzten 2 Tracks treffen nicht so mein Geschmack, der Rest ist feinster Soul. Wird gekauft.

Ich feier das neue Album nicht komplett, aber die ersten drei Tracks könnten kaum besser sein.
