You wouldn’t expect a romantic comedy from Jimmy McGovern, but you need to be made of stern stuff to get through this grim but compelling mini-series. Arguably, it’s almost as hard to watch for us as it is for the convicts to do their time.


It’s three hours of downbeat, frightening drama that might just convince someone teetering on the brink of a life of crime to come back from the edge.


But one of the most striking things about McGovern’s analysis of the prison system as that not everyone behind bars is a criminal, per se – many are good people who made a stupid mistake and pay for it for years.


That’s not to say that accidentally killing a cyclist is forgiveable – but is it right for society to treat the motorist the same way it would treat a serial armed robber or child abuser? [...]

The writing is powerful – thought-provoking when you have a moment to take a breath – although for most of the time, it feels like two separate stories intertwined, Mark’s and Eric’s, rather than there being any particular coherent strand linking the two protagonists.


The individual performances from the leads are gripping – in both cases – as Sean Bean’s Mark tries to survive and atone in this hell-hole, while Stephen Graham’s Eric tries to hold everything together as he puts his son’s welfare ahead of his professional principles – another example of a good man, brought down by bad decisions, beyond his control.


It’s heart-breaking to watch people who are good at heart being beaten to a pulp or manipulated against their better judgement, and being unable to do anything about it, because the real bullies are the ones with real power.


But powerful, effective and thought-provoking as it is as a TV drama – and easily manageable as it is in just three one-hour episodes

Baptiste Season 2 is komplett online :oops:
The Missing gefällt mir zwar deutlich besser,
aber ich mag den Charakter und den Schauspieler
:D

Mich hat die Maske RICHTIG getriggered. Das sah alles so beschissen aus. Schön, dass Sie es treu umsetzen wollten weil der Real Duntsch ja auch fett geworden ist. Peacock ist klar kein HBO aber das war wirklich lächerlich. Die Zeitsprünge waren auch viel zu verwirrend. Jerry wäre auch eine perfekte Figur in einer Comedy. Nicht abgesetzt sondern unbestimmte Zeit pausiert.

Wie TVLine berichtet, wird Mindhunter von Netflix auf unbestimmte Zeit pausiert. Außerdem werden die drei Hauptdarsteller Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany und Anna Torv aus ihren Verträgen entlassen, um sich erstmal neuen Projekten widmen zu können. Zu den Gründen der Mindhunter-Pause sagte ein Netflix-Sprecher gegenüber TVLine:

David [Fincher] konzentriert sich momentan auf die Regie seines ersten Netflix-Films Mank und auf die Produktion der 2. Staffel Love, Death & Robots. In Zukunft kann er zu Mindhunter zurückkehren, doch in der Zwischenzeit hielt er es nicht für fair, die Schauspieler von anderer Arbeit abzuhalten, während er sich selbst neuer Arbeit widmet.

War das nicht in früheren Berichten eher so, dass die Zahlen nicht gestimmt haben verglichen mit den Kosten der Serie?

Sollen halt mal ihre schwachsinnigen Produktionen sein lassen. Mir wird schlecht wenn ich mal in die Top 10 bei Netflix reinschaue, was die Leute statt sowas wie Mindhunter schauen. Ist klar einer der most underated Serien ever. Ist fast True Detective Staffel 1 Niveau.
 
Schaue gerade Resident Alien. Gefällt mit ganz gut. Wird jetzt keine Awards gewinnen, ist aber unterhaltsam und lustig für Zwischendurch.
 
6 Monate Apple Plus kostenlos für PS5 Besitzer. Werde aber bis Ende des Jahres warten bis Ted Lasso Staffel 2 komplett raus ist und dann gönnen.
