Anfang Februar wurde Rap-Mogul Jermaine Dupri von L.A. Reid zum Präsidenten von "Island Records Urban Music" (eine neue Abteilung der Island Def Jam Music Group) ernannt (unsere News vom 08.02.2007).
Als erste Amtshandlung hat Dupri den Rapper Hot Dollar gesignt. JD über seinen neuen Künstler:
Hot Dollar, der kürzlich das Mixtape "Respect and Techs Vol.1" veröffentlichte, arbeitet momentan an seinem Debütalbum für Def Jam/Island, welches im letzten Quartal 2007 erscheinen wird. Als Streetsingle wird man demnächst den Track "Streets on Lock" zu hören bekommen.
Als weiteres Signing stellte JD die R'n'B Gruppe Jagged Edge vor.
