so verletzlich wie auf "liability" hat sie noch nie geklungen. hat sich ja lange zeit genommen für das album, könnte groß werden.

finde das neue zeug langweilig, auf "liability" passiert ja musikalisch nix und krich da auch keine feelings. "green light" kannst du machen, aber lorde kanns besser.

Das bedeutet dann wohl leider, dass Joel Little diesmal keinen einzigen Song produziert hat. "Green Light" hat er schon mal nicht (co-)produziert und hätte er für einen der anderen Songs an den Reglern gestanden, hätte er mit sehr hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit auch daran mitgeschrieben. Sehr schade. Erfreut bin ich hingegen, die Namen Jakob Jerlström und Ludvig Söderberg aka The Struts (entfernte Bekannte aus Stockholm) zu lesen, obwohl der Song - der Coachella-Performance nach zu urteilen - nicht unbedingt mein Fall zu sein scheint.

Die nächste Single (weder "Sober" noch "Homemade Dynamite", wie eigentlich erwartet) erscheint am Freitag. Den Lyrics nach zu urteilen, dürfte es sich dabei um "Perfect Places" handeln.

Lorde’s bugbear at the moment was a song called “Perfect Places”, about going to parties and hooking up, in which she pierces an atmosphere of hedonism with stabs of melancholy — a recurring technique across the album. “It’s lived a million lives,” Lorde said of the composition. “We’ve tried it at different tempos, used different voicings, took it half time, made it weird and druggy, but that didn’t work. A big problem is that there’s so much to the song. The other day I had a breakthrough: What if we delete the entire prechorus? Just take it out, and I never have to hear it again in my life? We did, and now the whole thing follows a much simpler trajectory.” Lorde frowned. “But we still haven’t cracked the code.”
