New York OG $ha Hef has released his latest album Out The Mud, and fans of that NY sound will be most pleased. With grimy percussion and hazy synth loops, the sonic aesthetic conjures images of smoke shrouded back alleys, of drug dealers on the corner, of shoes dangling from telephone wire. -HotNewHipHop.com
$ha Hef has been on the competition’s neck this year, dropping a handful of singles, videos, performing at SXSW, as well as rolling loud and Yams Day. He also opened up for WESTSIDE GUNN and CONWAY, and Freddie Gibbs on their respective tours alongside Jay Worthy of LNDN DRGS. The 15 track project might be his best yet and finds $ha Hef utilizing new flows, stepping it up lyrically and bringing you his signature hazy, dark, grimy sound. The album boasts guests features from Bodega Bamz who shows up on “Time 4 This” and the late Prodigy who drops a killer verse on “Made Me Do.”

He’s definitely bringing some heat on his new project Out The Mud though, so if you’re completely unfamiliar this would be a good place to start. Think RetcH and Da$H levels of grimy with guest appearances from Bodega Bamz and the late Prodigy.
