Diggers Habit - Der Sample(r)talk! Vol. II

zu cover the child of destruction schreibt bei discogs jemand:

"this is one of these holy grails for all the indieheads out there. cover from the graffiticrew c.o.d. (bronx) dropped this bomb in 1995. the beatz from michelob and skibeatz are both bangin. the originalmix is based on an isaac hayes sample (which is also flipped by jay-z) while the remix is real smooth (the mainmelody is realized through an ahmad jamal-sample). the vocals seemed to be derived from a different recording-session as you can hear from the less yelling intonation on the remix in comparison with the original version. this works astonishingly good. cover's rhymes point out the misery and the ghettolife of a young man and his crew in new york. the rhyme patterns are easy to understand and the flow is simple but delivers that real ruff vibe many oldschool-fans admire so much!!! there are two different pressings (i suppose the clear-blue wax came out first...). ghettostyle at it's best!"

müsste man sich mal durch den ganzen katalog kämpfen;)
