Leider nein. Ein dritter Teil, der angeblich von Bink! produziert wurde und bereits zur Hälfte fertig sein soll, wird aber definitiv noch folgen. Darüber hinaus ist noch nichts bekannt. Da nie ausdrücklich von einer EP-Trilogie die Rede war, besteht natürlich Hoffnung auf einen vierten und fünften Teil. Ich könnte mir mittlerweile sogar vorstellen, dass wir auch Teile des meines Wissens nie fertiggestellten The Talented Mr. Trotter-Albums, welches in Zusammenarbeit mit Ray Angry, Raheem DeVaughn, Tunde Adebimpe (TV on the Radio) und Jim James (My Morning Jacket) entstand, im Rahmen dieser EP-Serie serviert bekommen – und dann wäre da ja auch noch seine neue Rap-Supergroup mit Phonte und Rhymefest. Auch daraus dürfte doch zumindest eine EP hervorgehen.
 
Welches Soundbild einem mehr zusagt ist subjektiv. Mir gefällt auch Teil 2 durchaus, wobei Teil 1 mehr Impact hatte irgendwie.
 
Wer bei dem Titel und der Auswahl des Produzenten ein anderes Soundbild erwartet hat, der ist auch selbst schuld. Finds sogar besser als Vol. 1, aber ich bin auch ein funky Muh'fucker :cool:

'18 sollte man schon wissen was einen erwartet wenn da Salaam Remi steht. Der baut vllt 2x pro Jahrzehnt einen richtig straighten Rapbeat. Sonst stehen da Konsorten wie Miguel, Anthony Hamilton, Amy Winehouse etc. in der Diskographie.

Und "hört sich wie The Roots an" ist für mich bei bestem Willen keine negative Eigenschaft. Vor allem liefert er doch ab, da sind wieder unfassbar gute Verses drauf. Und wer Rippeddiddydiddelrap-Spittimitti Rap will soll sich halt die Freestyles geben. Bei dem Background von Thought darf es doch echt keinen wundern wenn es sich nicht anhört wie Conway oder Marciano.

"Hört sich rootsy an" ist ein Indikator für Langeweile. Dit kennt man...und bekommt es bald wieder aufserviert - Solo will ich den über Samplebeats aka VOL. 1 hören und nicht über 0815funksoulscheisse. Wer erwartet, dass er klingt wie der one trick pony Conway? Natürlich jammere ich da auf hohem Niveau, aber die 9th beats sind ja auch komplett left field bzw. mit dem Kollektiv und klingen nicht wie der Standard9thwonderscheiss. Grizeldabeats sind von der Architektur hängengeblieben. Zumindest können die Teile back to back abjehört werden.
 
"undun" is eines der besten alben in ihrer discographie

mich stört es jetz nich dass die beats "rootsig" klingen
wobei man schon merkt dass die sich am prinzip von beats mit gesampleten und rearrangierten loops orientieren
nur dass halt nix gesamplet sondern alles eingespielt wurde
jedenfalls stören die beats mich nich obwohl salaam das noch besser kann

hauptsache sind eh wieder die brillanten parts von bt
man muss sich das echt mal bewusst machen dass der 2018 immer noch auf so nem krassen niveau is während die meisten alten mc legenden früher oder später nachgelassen haben
auch wieder so viele statement juwelen drin über black on black crime polizeigewalt oder die opiate epidemic
allein die stelle über seinen versklavten urgroßvater auf "how to hold a choppa"
für mich is der mann auf jeden top 5 dead or alive

The amount of music and the amount of media that I'm trying to put out in a year's time is going to be a period comparable to Picasso's 1932. From January to December, he put out – just in 12 months – so many different drawings and etchings and sculptures and so many conceptual series where you see a real common theme. It's more than most artists put out in their entire careers, so I feel like this is my 1932 as a follow-up to that freestyle from last year.
