Saudi Arabia says Lebanon has declared war on it
BEIRUT (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia said on Monday that Lebanon had declared war against it because of attacks against the Kingdom by the Lebanese Shi‘ite group Hezbollah.
Saudi Gulf affairs minister Thamer al-Sabhan told Al-Arabiya TV that Saad al-Hariri, who announced his resignation as Lebanon’s prime minister on Saturday, had been told that acts of “aggression” by Hezbollah “were considered acts of a declaration of war against Saudi Arabia by Lebanon and by the Lebanese Party of the Devil”.

Hmmm. Mir ist jetzt nicht bewusst, was das bedeuten soll. Zumindest scheint den Saudis die Präsenz des Irans und seiner Proxies in Syrien erwartungsgemäß nicht zu gefallen.

Hariris Rücktritt gibt den Saudis eine Art Legitimation die Regierung Libanons nicht anzuerkennen aufgrund der Hisbollah. Nun ist die Frage wer sich auf wessen Seite schlägt, kann mir auch gut vorstellen dass Iran in naher Zukunft wieder mehr isoliert bzw. Sanktionen erwarten kann. Alles schön abgesprochen mit Trump. Also das ist jetzt auch nur Spekulation und was ich mir zusammengereimt habe, mal gucken was in den nächsten Tagen so berichtet wird und wie andere Beteiligte reagieren.

Indeed, even in Donald Trump’s America, I have not given up on being friends with all white people. My bi-ethnic wife, my most trusted friend, understands she is seen as a white woman, even though her brother and father are not. Among my dearest friends, the wedding party and children’s godparents variety, many are white. But these are the friends who have marched in protest, rushed to airports to protest the president’s travel ban, people who have shared the risks required by strength and decency.
