HHG: The obvious question is why isn't Big Noyd on Infamous/G-Unit?

Noyd: It just wasn't set out to be that way. Noyd is always going to be Infamous for life. I'm one of the people who created Infamous. Me signing to G-Unit just wasn't planned that way. They can't sell me no dreams. The only way Mobb Deep can put out artists is they have to do well themselves. Mobb Deep has to worry about their own career before they think about signing me. I did a couple songs that didn't make the album. I don't want to say it's because they weren't good enough, but 50 is a businessman. I'm not G-Unit, so why would he put a song with Noyd on it where I'm not signed to G-Unit and I could possibly blow up off it? From my transformation as an artist, I understand that and I'm happy. It just wasn't planned like that. Mobb Deep is still getting their feet wet. We don't know what the future looks like, but it's not going to stop me from doing my thing.

HHG: A lot of fans were mad you weren't on Blood Money. Were you bothered by it?

Noyd: Only in a sense that I know that fans are going to look at it in a negative way. They're going to see that Noyd was on every album and now I'm not on Blood Money. That's the only thing that made me upset. I'm behind the scenes, so I know what's going on. Mobb Deep probably wanted me on it, but 50 calls the shots. The only thing I'm upset is the fans are going to look at it a certain way. Everybody has their opinion, but when my next project comes out, people won't give a **** who I'm signed to. All they're going to want to hear is good music.

HHG: So there's no friction between you and Mobb Deep right now?

Noyd: No. It's a family here. A lot of people look at it like it's rap, but we go back too far for that. Let's say I got in a situation with Havoc, it can go where our parents see each other in church. There's only so far petty rap stuff can go with us. It's all brand new right now. There ain't no drama at all. Havoc is like a second-cousin to me, so there's far from there being any problems.

HHG: Do you see yourself or IM3 going to G-Unit in the future?

Noyd: I think everybody's wondering what's up with Infamous Mobb and Noyd. Business-wise, somebody may take advantage of that. I could stomp the radio and then G-Unit or Interscope or Universal could be calling me. You can't predict the future of this rap stuff, but that's not the plan at this point.

HHG:What do you think of the Blood Money album?

Noyd: I like blood money. If mobb deep had come out with the same old music, people would have said, "when are they going to reinvent themselves?" Now that they're making a different sound,people are saying its not the same mobb deep." Everybody has their own opinions. I do like the album. It's not my favourite album. It's definetely good. I'd definetely give it an A.

to Raekwons people we can officially confirm that Chef Raekwon has inked a deal with Dr. Dres Aftermath Entertainment. While details are still sketchy, we can confirm that the papers were signed last week.

It was already known that Dr. Dre and Raekwon had worked together on the highly anticipated "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx" project, an initiative of Busta Rhymes who is also an Executive Producer of the record with RZA.

"Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II" will be a co-production between Aftermath and Wu-Tang. Whether this is the Wu Music Group or Wu-Tang Productions is not known yet.

RZA has yet to confirm the rest of the details.

This is truly history in the making...

What's going on everyone. Just wanted to drop by real quick and throw out a few thoughts. This isn't going to be a long stay for me. Things are going good for me. I hope all is well with all of you. I'm working on a lot of music and enjoying the fruits of my work over the years. Peace of mind wise I am feeling great. While I am proud of every track I have ever worked with Dre and am forever humbled and blessed with his friendship and musical kindship, as well as honored to continue to do music with him, I love doing some other music that's different than what I've been doing with Dre. As usual this board and a lot of the names have changed. I spent a few minutes reading some posts and must say I don't recognize many names. A lot of you are really passionate about hip hop especially west coast, and although I disagree with a lot of things you guys say I definitely love to hear your thoughts and other viewpoints. I know the main question most of you have is when is Detox coming out. Well I wish I could tell you. The only person who knows that is the man himself. I've been in and out so i'm not sure what his thinking is at this point, but Dre is not going to put it out until he's ready. I know he is wanting Detox to be his final testament, his defining moment and the pinnacle of his career. Not to mention the incredible amount of pressure and scrutiny he's under by everyone to make the greatest record ever made. He knows that's what everyone expects, and although that is an impossible standard to live up to he's going to do his best. That's why Detox will only come out when Dre has put every ounce of energy and his heart and soul into the record and thinks the final product is the best he can do. No matter what he does I'm sure he'll get criticized from people left and right. Dre's legendary musical catalogue is both his gift and his curse. My opinion on Detox is that it will be well worth the wait. The last time I was in the studio with him he played some great stuff. Some of the stuff he and we have done over the last few years is so far ahead of everyone else and current time its nuts, but the big dilema is how experimental and crazy will be too much. A lot of fans may hate it because its not classic Dre. I love Legend of the Fall. But a lot of people won't like it because its so different and experimental. It's not a regular track, it is much closer to a movie on wax. Will people want to hear orchestra's and unique live instruments on Detox? If so please comment that you want that because if Dre decides to do what he is thinking of doing it will be apocolyptic and crazy and be unlike any hip hop you've ever heard. But it won't be classic Dre. Please comment on this and I will pass on your opinions. But be patient because Dre will give you everything he has even it if it don't come out until 2007, which it probably won't. I can't wait for everyone to hear Detox, whichever sound Dre decides to go with and whenever he puts it out. I'm schedule to go back in with Dre soon and looking forward to hearing some new music and working with Dre to create more crazy sonic soundscapes for Detox.
One of the things that bothers me most on this board is the constant criticism of Dre that he abandoned the west coast. Grow up people. Without Dre there would be no westcoast hip hop as you know it, there would be no dubcc. Dre recently brought in and blew up Game and he's is now working hard with Bishop. Dre don't care where you are from. If you got skills and are willing to put in a lot of blood, sweat and tears and sacrifice a lot of things Dre will work with you. A lot of artists are not willing to put that forward, including almost all of the artists Dre has dropped over the years. So shut the **** up about Dre not caring about west coast hip hop. He's given his life to putting west coast hip-hop on the map. It's time for others to step up. Dre keeps doing music because he loves it not because he needs it. One of these days Dre isn't going to be around. When is someone else gonna stand up and take some responsibility? Don't depend on Dre to keep things going. No more excuses. Be thankful for all Dre his given you over the years and be thankful he's still putting out music. Now don't take that as a request not to be critical about Dre sometimes, just be respectful and fair.

It will come out in the form he wants it and he has been promised it will be a first priority release when its ready.

The official word will be clearance issues, which is in part true, but the real reason could be, among other reasons, saving a beat for someone else and/or saving a track for a different album, but I don't have any idea
Well thats my update for this year. I may post for a couple more minutes but other than that I will be gone once again for quite some time. Hopefully I can stop by again in 2007 with news of an impending release of some album which you have never heard of before by some guy named Andre Young.

Dre hat eigentlich nur noch in HipHop Kreisen nen Mythos. Und selbst in den Kreisen wird er für die Produktionen die er in letzter Zeit so abliefert teilweise scharf kritisiert. Dres große Zeit ist vorbei. Er ist als Rapper Geschichte und wird sich mit Detox, falls es mal kommt, auch nicht wieder nach oben bringen können. Und als Producer bringt er auch nicht mehr wirklich geile beats zustande. Es hört sich nicht mehr so geil an wie früher. Und ich meine jetzt nicht die G-Funk Zeit

Dre ist über 20 Jahre im biz. Der scheißt drauf ob sich das zeug gut anhört oder nicht. Der will auch noch ein bisschen Geld machen bevor er sich zur Ruhe setzt

Klar gehören sie noch immer zu den Besten, aber sie sind halt nicht mehr so gut wie früher. Wenn ich mir den beat zu forever von stat quo anhöre weiß ich das er es noch immer drauf hat. aber das sind dann leider doch schon fast ausnahmen

For the first time in many years, the man once known as Dat Nigga Daz is actually happy. As a rapper/producer who’s had his hand in creating undisputed hip-hop classics like Doggystyle and All Eyez On Me, Daz has every right to finally enjoy success. It’s been a long, arduous road from the Death Row camp, where he and his Dogg Pound partner in rhyme, Kurupt, dropped their debut gem, Dogg Food, only to later have a mysterious falling out and subsequent verbal beef. Scorned but unfazed, Daz trekked on, releasing a number of independent albums, all the while setting up his own imprint, DPG Records. Now, with his first major label release in eight years, So So Gangsta, on Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def Records and the reunification of Tha Dogg Pound, Daz is poised to help bring Cali back to national prominence. XXLMAG.COM spoke with Dillinger while he was cruising through New York City and got him to open up about what brought him to Atlanta to work with JD, why he and Kurupt might be the next ones rocking the spinning G-Unit medallion and, most importantly, why Cali is indeed, still active.

Linking up with So So Def seemed like it came outta left field. How did that come about?
Well, we were friends for a long time and I wasn’t doing nothing. I just thought it would be a great move, so I went over there. I’ve been with him for like four years, just grinding, doing independent deals and waiting for my time to shine. Working with [Jermaine], I come in to the left, he come in to the right. I might be doing this and he tell me, “Nah, we’re gonna switch it up and do it this way.” I recorded a whole album before that’s not coming out.

After The Game did it big last year, a lot of people started talking about a West Coast revival. Do you think that’s happening?
We’re sticking together—unity. You see artists coming together like Ice Cube and Dogg Pound. It feels good. The West Coast is back. Game cracked the door [open], but we busted the door open. [He] couldn’t bring the West back like we could.

How do you think the whole hyphy movement fits into this revival?
It’s all the same, just different environments. Getting hyphy is poppin’ pills. That’s an E pill thing, so it’s all to the good. I like the hyphy movement, that’s that 100 [bpm] tempo type stuff. But gangsta shit, that’s my type of music.

Do you think the West will ever be back on top of the rap game?
As far as direct sales, we ain’t never went nowhere. Just the business left the West Coast, the big CEOs and all that shit. It’s just like an apartment that gets burned or robbed. Ain’t nobody going to live in there ’til they see there’s some new homes in the neighborhood. That’s what we’re bringing back with unity. We’re making sure the neighborhood straight, people can go outside, barbeque, eat.

After Kurupt went back to Death Row, most people never thought there would be a Dogg Pound reunion. How did you finally bring the group together again?
Snoop—you know we cousins—so he came to me with the idea, and I put it together. I wanted to go get Kurupt, and Snoop was with it. He quarterbacked the deal to go get that money. Kurupt was already with it. It’s like, You can come on over here and get this money. You ain’t getting nothing over there, so what you gonna do? You gonna go with the niggas who put you in the game.

So how’s the chemistry between you and Kurupt now?
Oh you know, it’s the same feeling as being in [the] bathroom and shittin’. It’s the same thing really. Ain’t nothing changed, [since] ’bout ’93, ’94, ’95. [As] soon as we got into the studio, the chemistry was there. We made the right decisions. It feels like back in the day ’cause we really got the business going the way we want it to go. [Kurupt] got a lot of things going on now too. He got a movie going on, he got a career going, I’m distributing his label and trying to bring in executive people.

You’ve been producing a lot of stuff for some big name artists. Why didn’t you do any beats on the new Dogg Pound album?
I didn’t produce nothing on the Dogg Pound album. That’s for the next one when we make a big mega deal with 50 Cent, hopefully.

You guys are thinking of heading over to G-Unit?
Yeah, [for] the next one. We trying to see what’s really crackin’ with the business and make it happen. [50] was speaking about me doing a deal with him. He was talking about it like three, four weeks ago, so I’m trying to see what’s really crackin’. A lot of bullshit trying to come up, but I’m throwing that to the side. I’m trying to see what’s really going on.

Are you at all worried about the fact that the G-Unit roster is getting a bit bloated?
We already did “DPG Unit” on the Young Buck [album]. You can have two power groups. We originators of this shit, so we making noise on our own with the real gangsta shit. It’s just a matter of getting the records out. [If G-Unit] gives me and Kurupt $2.5 million a piece, we all in the game [laughs]. That’s 500,000 records sold. Go ahead and put that in our pockets, man, we’ll give you one of those hella albums! If we show we can put an album out now on Koch and we can do a million independent, then they really gotta break bread.

Do you think it would sour your relationship with people out West?
Mutha****as don’t pay my bills. I’m my own man. It’s Snoop doing the deal, I’m just chillin’. I’m handling my business. I’m just coordinating my piece of the pie.

Noch etwas zum Preis...
Da diese Cd ein Mixtape ist,kostete sie ursprünglich auch nicht so viel.Ich will aber mal einen sehen der jetzt noch das Original Mixtape von 2002(auch wirklich als Tape nicht als CD)zu diesem Preis bekommt.Solche Tapes werden sehr hoch gehandelt und gehen oftmals für mehrere hundert Dollar/Euro über den Tisch.

GAME OFF AFTERMATH?
After pushing the release of his sophomore album back, Compton rapper The Game has been quietly searching for a new label home for himself and his Black Wall Street label within the Interscope family, sources say. He broke his affiliation with G-Unit over a year ago after a highly-publicized beef with 50 Cent, and now is rumored to be getting dropped from Dr. Dre's Aftermath/Interscope label. Though Dre will produce a significant amount of tracks on Game's upcoming album, The Doctor's Advocate, word on the street is that Game will be moved over to the Geffen label. Reps for the label and for Game are hush hush, but this is one that seems to have been brewing for quite a while. Ever since 50 Cent claimed that Dre would no longer be working with Game, the rivals went back and forth over whether or not that was true. Seems that 50 got the final say.
