50 Cent’s new album Curtis, which was previously scheduled to be released on June 26th, will now be released on September 4, 2007. With the album near completion and unable to make the original June date, a simultaneous worldwide release necessitated a push until September.

"I’m an international artist. My fans worldwide deserve to receive my album at the same time as my fans here in the US. Taking that into consideration moving the album to September was a necessary course of action," states 50 Cent.

50 Cent is by no means taking the summer off. His first major performance will be June 26th on the BET Awards. For the first time ever, BET will let the fans decide which song 50 Cent will perform on the show. Rza - Yeah, we working together on that album. I mean I was in Dre's studio for months. The beats he got, I chose that beat like "yo, I want that one yo." He was like "you want that one? Bam! Here." It was like that yo, it was much respect between us man.

ThaFormula.com - So I have to ask what I ask everyone that messes with Dre, how do you feel about all the stories and accusations about Dre not being a real producer or having ghost producers?

Rza - Dr. Dre is a master homie, trust me! All that shit niggas try to say, "blah, blah, blah," that nigga is a master son. There is nobody who ever touched the board that made Hip-Hop sound as clear, heavy and strong as he did.

Sha Money XL über die Zukunft von Lloyd Banks

"Rotten Apple", "Thoughts of a Predicate Felon", "Blood Money"... nahezu alles, was in der jüngeren Vergangenheit aus dem G-Unit Camp kam, floppte nach Interscope-Standards gnadenlos weg. Mit Prodigy suchte einer der Künstler zwischenzeitlich sogar auf dem Indie-Label KOCH Records sein Glück. Für G-Boss 50 Cent, nach neuesten Zahlen zweitreichster Rapper der Welt (nach Jay-Z, aber vor P. Diddy) liegt die Ursache des Desasters nicht an der Qualität der Musik, sondern an einer mangelnden Arbeitsbereitschaft seines Rosters. Nachdem er damit drohte, bis auf Young Buck und Tony Yayo alle G-Unit Künstler zu droppen, ergreift nun G-Unit Records-Präsident Sha Money XL das Wort und spricht über die Zukunft von Hoffnungs- als auch Sorgenkind Lloyd Banks.

"Sein originaler Rap-Name war Lazy Lloyd, seine Haltung ist also tatsächlich ziemlich laid back. Er ist auf jeden Fall der bescheidenste von uns allen. Er muss aber endlich nicht nur seine Verantwortung als Künstler, sondern auch als Geschäftsmann wahrnehmen. Du musst dein Herz da reinstecken. Seine ursprüngliche Einstellung war es, nur zu rappen. Aber es ist mehr als das."

Banks allein will er aber nicht für die enttäuschenden Verkaufszahlen von "Rotten Apple" verantwortlich machen. Viel mehr hätten die vielen Beefs rund um das G-Unit Lager den Kauf eines Lloyd Banks-Tonträgers direkt zu einem politischen Statement gemacht.

"Die Industrie schmäht ihn, weil er ein 'Rapper's Rapper' ist. Er sitzt nicht in irgendwelchen Marketing-Meetings oder kennt die Politik der Radiostationen - er kennt nicht einmal die Rückwirkung seiner Songs. Als Banks rauskam, musste er gegen eine Menge Hass ankämpfen. Es ging nicht mehr nur um Musik, es ging um Politik."

Politik mit Ausmaßen. Nachdem Banks von seinem Debütalbum "The Hunger For More" noch 4 Millionen Platten weltweit absetzen konnte, verkaufte der Nachfolger nur noch magere 279.000 Einheiten. Nicht nur ein kommerzieller, sondern auch ein Image-Schaden, sowohl für ihn als Solo-Künstler, als auch für das Gorilla-Label. Trotzdem wird noch Hoffnung in den ehemaligen Platin-Act gesetzt: Banks arbeitet momentan an seinem dritten Album für G-Unit Records.

"Das Album an dem er arbeitet ist fantastisch, er wird zurückkommen wie Jay-Z nach 'Sunshine'. Manchmal hast du eben dieses eine Album, das nicht wirklich angenommen wird, aber Banks Fans sind immer noch mit ihm. Er tourt immer noch und spielt Shows, als ob nichts passiert wäre. Er wird wiederkommen - he on some lyrical exercise."

Ist ja wirklich unglaublich da hat Lloyd Banks mit "The Hunger For More" 2 Millionen Platten verkauft und mit dem Nachfolger "Rotten Apple" nur noch 300,000 !!! ok das er mit dem ersten mehr verkauft war klar, da allgemein die Verkaufszahlen runter gehen und damals der Hype um G-Unit am größten war !!! vielleicht hätte man vor der 2ten Runde der Solo-Alben von Lloyd, Buck und Yayo nochmal ein G-Unit Album aufnehmen sollen um sie nochmal besser zu promoten, dann wären die Verkäufe vielleicht besser gelaufen !

Obwohl mir das Busta Album sehr gut gefallen hat... wie oft hat sich das denn verkauft? Naja, Busta und Joell Ortiz sind sowieso die einzigen auf diesem Label die ich mir geben kann (Ok Eminem und Dr Dre WAREN mal gut, aber zurzeit kommt eigentlich auch nur wackes Zeug von denen)

Zum Thema G-Unit Sound: Der hat sich wirklich seit "The Massacre" nicht mehr verändert, "Get Rich Or Die Tryin" war ja noch recht geil (aber ich muss hinzufügen das dies größtenteils an den Beats lag, hätte ein Nas über diese Beats gerappt wäre das Album ein verdammter Classic)

Last week on BET's Rap City, DJ Khaled snubbed 50 Cent by intentionally not labeling only Get Rich or Die Tryin' a classic out of eight albums. Khaled's explanation? "I'm all about unity, but if you're not down with unity, I can't help you with that."

After this, fans eagerly awaited a response from anyone in the G-Unit camp. Well, it looks like the Unit's very own "Clean-Up Man" Young Buck has obliged, with an unname diss.

In the song, it's clear who Buck is referring to, as he refers to many of the people on Khaled's latest album We the Best: "Young Jeezy and T.I. be in the street with Buck/Me and Akon sip Don and Wayne know wassup/Maybe Fat Joe tellin' you don't **** with the Unit/Terror Squad is your clique, you gotta stay loyal to it."

Has the beef between G-Unit and Terror Squad escalated? We're bound to find out soon enough.

50 Cent Shoots Three New Videos for Curtis, Explains BET Awards Performance

Yesterday (June 28), 50 Cent appeared on BET’s 106 & Park to explain his controversial performance at the BET Awards on Tuesday night where he failed to rap the entire first verse of his new single, “Amusement Park.” After the performance, fans, bloggers and message boards went into a frenzy, contemplating whether Fif was lip-synching, his microphone got cut off or he just forgot his own lyrics. 50 cleared up the controversy yesterday at 106 & Park. “Everything doesn’t quite happen the way you practice it,” 50 said. “You see, I was hit by the aerialist and I was wibby-wobbling coming down. 25 feet in the air, man, you fall — can’t nobody help me with that, you know what I mean? Then by the time you get down, you try and regroup to fight, you got the pyro going off, the music starts, we four bars into the song, you know — I just wasn’t concentrating.”

In addition, MTV News has reported that 50 has shot three more videos for his upcoming album, Curtis, which will be released on September 4. Fif’s next official single will be a collaboration with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland entitled “She Want It.” While “Follow My Lead,” which features Robin Thicke, was rumored to be the next single, MTV confirmed with Interscope Records that the video was indeed shot but it being shelved. In addition, MTV has reported 50 has shot a video for a remix of “Straight to the Bank,” but representative’s at Interscope claim to have no knowledge of the video’s existence.

Dr. Dre First Single & Other Album Info About Detox

The video for the first single from Dr. Dre will feature a guest and will be filmed in late May 2008. The video will premiere on various stations in late June 2008.

The album will be released on September 25, 2008, so Dr. Dre’s album can be sent in for Grammy nominations, and it is confirmed that Detox will be almost a full 80 minute album featuring guests on basically every track. Eminem and 50 Cent are the only confirmed artist to be featured on the album.

It has been confirmed that Diddy and Jay-Z have both done vocals made for Detox, but it is not known if they will make the final cut. The album is set to be co-produced by Scott Storch who has announced that Snoop Dogg, Lloyd Banks, and Bishop Lamont have also recorded vocals. Other people working on Detox consist of Mike Elizondo and Dawayn Parker.

Aber ehrlich, was erwartet ihr denn von jemandem der zugegebenermaßen gute Beatbretter baut aber sich fast alles von Ghost Writern schreiben lässt. Das Problem ist doch, je länger die Leute drauf warten umso höher ist die Erwartungshaltung die er meines erachtens leider gar nicht mehr erfüllen kann. Ein neues Chronic was den selben Einfluss hat wie das damalige kann ich mir beim besten Willen nicht vorstellen. Aber ich lasse mich gern eines besseren belehren, dafür müssen allerdings Taten sprechen!!!

Hab gerade das "I Get Money"-Video von 50 Cent gesehen :D Boah ist das ein schlechter Track, wie oft will Cuuuuuurtis noch über sein Vermögen rappen, interessiert doch keine Sau! Das ganze wär ja noch halbwegs erträglich hätte er en paar lustige Punchlines oder en guten Flow, aber is beides nich vorhanden.

Ich wage es jetzt auch einfach zu behaupten das sich das neue Album nicht gut verkaufen wird, so ganz ohne eine anständige Single für die 12 Jährigen Kiddies die 90% seiner Verkaufszahlen ausmachen.

Insofern denke ich das "Curtis" meine Erwartungen erfüllen wird, es wird noch schlechter als "Massacre" :D

Mobb Deeps Havoc mit Solo Debut nach 14 Jahren im Rapbiz

Das am 18.09. erscheinende Album trägt den Namen The Kush und kommt über Nature Sounds Records raus.
Alle Songs sind von Havoc selbst produziert und soundtechnisch soll uns der dunkle und rauhe Sound der früheren Werke Mobb Deep's erwarten. "The Kush is dark and gutter" lässt Havoc ausrichten. Als Grund für das späte erscheinen des Solo Debuts, nach nun mehr 14 Jahren Rapkarriere, nennt der Mann aus Queens folgenden:

"I was always ready, but the reason why it took me so long is because the timing wasn't right. I was always working with Mobb Deep material and working with other artists and I used a lot of the material I was going to use for a solo LP for Mobb Deep records." Recht hat er, kann er doch Produktionen für Nas, Capone & Noreaga, 50 Cent, Jadakiss, LL Cool J, Method Man und etlichen weiteren Größen vorweisen. If you've never heard of Los Angeles rapper A Da Business a.k.a. A-B, then it's not your fault. He has been quiet and patiently waiting a long time for his big break. The hard work behind the scenes has paid off, as he's currently in negotiations with several major record labels, thanks to his resume which includes names like 50 Cent, Kanye West, LT Hutton, Tyrese and many others.

Going back 3 years, A-B was introduced to 50 Cent to collaborate on a song called "Infrared" produced by Red Spyda.

To this day, the song is still unreleased. Why you ask? The reason is that the same beat later found its way onto "Guerilla City", a song from Guerilla Black's last album, even before A-B got his chance to shine.

"Me and 50 Cent originally did the song," A-B told Dubcnn.com. "but then the beat was sold to Guerilla Black. It wasn't Guerilla's fault, it was his A&R from Virgin Records who ****ed up. He heard me on the song and he was like "I'm working on the Guerilla Black album, I need to buy that track!" So he went behind my back and bought the beat from Red Spyda. It was a gay ass lil' move. But I wasn't trippin', cause like I said, once 50 and me touched the song it was over! I never put the album out so the song never saw the light of day. If I would have put the album out, Guerilla Black would have never been able to put that song out. But Guerilla is my homeboy too, so it ain't no bad look for him, it's just his A&R." A-B continued.

A-B said that he might still use "Infrared" for his upcoming mixtape, but him and 50 are probably gonna do something new for the album. "50 did his thing on there for me as far as putting the hook on there, and I laced the verses. They did the song under Dr. Dre's roof, and you know, when they do something under his proof, it's a Dre beat automatically. But Spyda originally did the beat though. The only way Dre's name was gonna be on it is if I had put it on my album, but I was still gonna give Red Spyda his credit." A-B said.

When asked why he never got the chance to drop the album, even though it had appearances from heavyweights like 50 Cent, he said that "I couldn't drop it by myself. We need the deals to go through, and I never signed no contracts with nobody. I did that song independent, but I pulled that off being a hot artist. They asked me to come in and do a few songs and one thing led to another. I was also ****ing with my family at BMF [Black Mafia Family], so everybody thought I was signed to them. I was an artist at BFM, but I never signed any contracts."

Around that time, Sha Money XL tried to sign A-B to G-Unit after the song with 50 was completed. And as of today, he's just looking for the right place to get signed. "Right now, my big homie Warren G is trying to shop me to Aftermath, so we're trying to see what's going on with that situation. Warren said that Aftermath would probably be the best place for me, being a L.A. artist. But I'm not the type of dude hunting down labels and beating down their doors telling them to play my music. I just stay recording, and whatever comes up, comes up!"

Being aware that many artists signed to Aftermath were dropped in the past, A-B explained that it's all about your dedication and your grind. "The record label can only do so much. It's on you to make yourself hot!"

A-B is currently cooking up hits behind closed doors, before he's getting ready to hit the big scene. He's got a new single that is about to drop called "Don't Get Me Confused" featuring Tyrese on the hook with production by LT Hutton. Frequent Dubcnn visitors will be familiar with the song, as it was previously featured on Tyrese's (a.k.a. Black Ty) mixtape "Ghetto Royalty", which we offered for free download a while ago. The mixtape version was a Remix and also featured a verse from Kurupt.

The track will be featured on his upcoming album "Have Heart, Have Money". To create a buzz for his debut, he's coming with a mixtape first called "Hood Classic". As you can see, A-B is about his work ethic. In addition to these two projects, he has already started working on his follow-up album called "All Business, Never Personal".

"Right now we're working on the marketing strategy and promotion for "Have Heart, Have Money", A-B told Dubcnn. "As for the music, I did everything on my own. I did over 70 songs with all kind of hot producers like LT Hutton, Kanye West, Jelly Roll, Denaun Porter, DJ Khalil, No I.D., KG from Naughty By Nature, Rick Rude, Rodney Jerkins, and many others. Basically I'm making the label's job a lot easier. The package is ready. What you wanna do? Just cut the check, start on media and promotion, drop the single, shoot a video, and it's a wrap!" he said.

Of course we're not gonna let you sit there reading this without bumping some of A-B's music. So we present you the aforementioned tracks "Infrared" featuring 50 Cent and "Don't Get Me Confused" featuring Tyrese, as well as another track called "Where You Are".

Bishop Lamont bin ich mal gespannt, auch wenn das Album hunderprozentig nicht mein erhofftes Dre produziertes Westcoastgerät wird, das auch nach Westcoast klingt .... Dion und Marsha haben beide gute Stimmen, werden allerdings nie ein Album über Aftermath releasen prophezeie ich mal ...
von g.a.g.e und Joell Ortiz kenn ich nichts, weil ich zumindest bei ersterem denke,dass er genauso eine Pflaumen ist die 50, Spider Loc und Konsorten ....
Zweiteren werd ich aber nochmal auschecken bei Gelegenheit ...

It looks like 50 and The Game might be huggin' up on each other again sooner than later. According to Mediatakeout, The Game will head into the studio this week to record a last minute addition to 50 Cent's "Curtis" album. Sources are also saying The Game may once again be joining G-Unit. This obviously makes sense for The Game, whose sales have slumped a bit, and 50, who can't seem to find anyone on G-Unit that can sell records either than him...and even he might be in trouble! If this goes down, look for The Game to leave again in six months.

July 23, 2007. The hip hop world is in for a huge shock. MediaTakeOut.com has learned that the Game has agreed to record a track for 50 Cent's new album Curtis.

We spoke exclusively with a key source in The Game's camp who explained how the two superstars came together. The source told MediaTakeOut.com, "[Game] contacted [50 Cent's management] and asked if he could record a track. At first they refused, but in the last few weeks, they've changed their minds." The insider continued, "[The Game] is set to go into the studio this week ... he's pretty excited about it."

And that's not all. According to our source, The Game may be on the verge of re-joining with G-Unit. The insider explained to MediaTakeOut.com, "Both [50 Cent] and [Game] are businessmen. It would be great for both of them if Game were to return to The G-Unit ... No deal is signed yet, but they're talking about it - and both sides are interested in making it work."

Outside of 50 Cent, The Game has been the most successful member of G-Unit. His debut album sold nearly 6 million copies. That's more than Tony Yayo's (700,000 copies), Young Buck's (2 million copies) and Lloyd Banks' (2.5 million copies) debut albums combined.

Ich schätze eher, dass es den alten Westcoastflavour haben wird, allerdings wird es zeitgemäß klingen. Wie halt 2001 zu Chronic. Wenn man sich heutzutage 2001 gibt hört es sich auch schon sehr oldschool an. :D

Zu Detox: An ein G-Funk album kann ich auch nicht glauben, Chronic 2001 klingt vollkommen anders als chronic, und so wird es auch mit Detox sein. Allerdings, wer wenn nicht Dre könnte es sich erlauben nen OldSkool Album zu recorden, ihm trau ich als einzigen zu das er damit erfolg haben könnte. Aber der mann hängt doch auch inzwischen so weit im Komerz und Business drin, obs ihm wirklich noch um eine rückbesinnung/weiterentwicklung wie auch immer im HipHop geht ist zu bezweifeln.

We spoke exclusively with a key source in The Game's camp who explained how the two superstars came together. The source told MediaTakeOut.com, "[Game] contacted [50 Cent's management] and asked if he could record a track. At first they refused, but in the last few weeks, they've changed their minds." The insider continued, "[The Game] is set to go into the studio this week ... he's pretty excited about it."

And that's not all. According to our source, The Game may be on the verge of re-joining with G-Unit. The insider explained to MediaTakeOut.com, "Both [50 Cent] and [Game] are businessmen. It would be great for both of them if Game were to return to The G-Unit ... No deal is signed yet, but they're talking about it - and both sides are interested in making it work."

Outside of 50 Cent, The Game has been the most successful member of G-Unit. His debut album sold nearly 6 million copies. That's more than Tony Yayo's (700,000 copies), Young Buck's (2 million copies) and Lloyd Banks' (2.5 million copies) debut albums combined.

Es ging darum das sein Bruder (angeblich) versucht hat ihn zu erpressen.
Sein Bruder hat dann in Interviews erzählt,dass Game nur ein Fake G ist und die Geschichten die Game erzählt auf seinem Leben basieren würden.Außerdem sei er selbstsüchtig und auch der Schuldtragende an ihrem Streit... halt der übliche Kindergarten.

Edit: hab mir grad das original angehört, welches ja von dre produziert wurde.
Ich will echt nich schon wieder mies machen aber der beat ist einfach nur grotten langweilig. Warum benutzen alle nur noch diese Synthies wo man das Gefühl hat ne Beerdigung spielt sich ab oder das Militär reitet ein? Wo bleibt der Funk und der soul wie noch damals auf den chronic alben? Genauso auf den snaga und pillath alben, rap mutiert langsam zu techno. Bin ich froh das es noch einen kanye west oder Madlib gibt, die etwas musikalität reinbringen.
Wenn schon Synthie dann sollen die den doch wenisgtens mal musikalisch einsetzen wie auf den funk alben damals oder wie man es auf dem platinum pied pipers album hört.
Bin echt gespannt ob detox auch so banale produktionen haben wird.
Hab mir dann noch diesen bishop lamont angehört über my space, weil ich durch das juice interview auf ihn gekommen bin. Ich war echt erstaunt, hat mir alles sehr gut gefallen, vorallem dafür das es mixtape b/c ware ist. Heutzutage ist ja auch aussehen und ja charizma entscheidend um in die charts zu kommen und ich find das hat der typ. Erinnert mich irgendwie an die alten gangsta filme wie menace oder boys in the hood. Yeah bin aufs album gespannt!

Eminem hat was im Auge und zwar den 10ten Grammy, den er mit seinem Album King Mathers anstrebt. Dieses will er uns ja bekanntlich auch noch in diesem Jahr aufs Auge drücken. "Ich habe neun von diesen Mother****as und ich liebe sie. Also versuche ich auch noch einen zehnten abzugreifen" gab der Detroiter Rapper dem XXL Magazin als Information mit. Weiter wird er zitiert: "Ich habe nie wirklich verstanden, was zur Hölle ein Grammy ist. Es schien immer wie ein Haufen von alten Leuten die Smokings tragen und entscheiden welches [Album] ihrer Meinung nach das beste war." Die Meinung hat sich wohl geändert.

Wie mein Vorredner schon sagte ist das Ding von Black Milk produziert. Die beiden bringen zusammen eine Collabo raus deswegen auch der Name "Caltroit".

Mir gings auch jetzt nich explizit um g-funk, sondern um funk,soul im allgemeinen. Man muss da auch nix samplen oder sowas, man kann ja auch selber einspielen. Mir gehts einfach um warme Beats die ich so heute sehr selten höre. Klar bin ich für abwechslung, ich kann mir auch mal den track assozialen lifestyle aufm s&p album geben, find ich fett, aber solche synthie beats findest du doch heutzutage auf jedem deutschen rap album. Deswegen hat mich das seperate album auch so überrascht, weil die beats mal musikalisch klangen. Ich find die abwechslung kommt wenn die leute mal weg von dem synthie lärm kommen und anfangen beats im stile von "einfach ich" aufm samy deluxe album zu produzieren. Momentan läuft da grad son beatcontest über my space, ich konnte da die beats echt kaum mehr unterscheiden weil irgendwie jeder die selben synthie sounds verwendet hat und sich jeder beat einfach nur jiggy mäßig angehört hat. Und die sounds wurden dort auch nich gestellt, jeder konnte seinen eigenen beat machen. Naja wie auch immer. Irgendjemand hat den leuten ins gehirn geschissen, jeder ist nur noch auf diesem
"game übernahme" oder "ich muss buizz machen" trip, um musik gehts da nur noch selten meiner meinung nach. Hört euch mal die stevie wonder sachen an oder donny hathaway, dann versteht ihr was ich meine.

Jetzt hat 50 Cent einen richtigen Grund, sauer auf Interscope zu sein, denn eigentlich sollte das neue 50 Cent Video "Follow my lead" featuring Robin Thicke im Oktober veröffentlicht werden.

As one of Detroit's most indelible underground rap entities and as a part of Eminem's multi-platinum supergroup D-12, Bizarre has carved out a unique niche in the hip-hop world. Eminem would be unwise to pursue his lawsuit against Apple, according a several prominent copyright lawyers. Attorneys say Eminem's lawsuit, among other similar suits, is unlikely to proceed very far, but the real goal of the litigation is to challenge the claim by record labels that they have the right to negotiate Internet sales on their behalf.

"This particular issue is a real sore spot in the industry," Jay Rosenthal, legal counsel for the Recording Artists' Coalition told ZDNet. "It's the gorilla in the room, and you're going to start seeing more of these suits as you start to see layoffs and cutbacks."

At issue is the revenue that artists derive from digital downloads -- a cut many say is unfair in the wake of declining CD sales. Artists receive about 16 cents per album sold at retail outlets, while the music publisher gets 9.1 cents. Lawsuits allege that artists receive about 4.5 cents on every 99-cent digital download.
